Babes in Boxes at Basque Nightclub in Hollywood

Thursday February 16, 2006
Platinum Events hosts the festivites Saturday nights at Basque at the famous intersection of Hollywood and Vine. The crowd of men waiting on the sidewalk to get past the velvet rope may be anxious to see the vixens behind glass, or the hot femmes already inside on the dance floor. Ladies arriving early and in style may get in free to spice up the decor.

Are you kidding me? This is the worst of the worst of ALL Hollywood clubs. Lindsay Lohan?! Ashley Simpson?! More like “Azn night” lining up for a shits worth of clubbing. I went to ‘Basque’ tonight, waited 20 minutes when 2 people were ahead of me, argued with the doorman when he tried to con me into paying $40 dollars to get in when in fact everyone in front of me and before me only paid $20. When I finally sneaked (AND paid $0.00) because the doorman + security person started punching a guy in the face for being drunk and obnoxious, (which I should have been a witness for since it was totally uncalled for and unfair + they broke his nose and his blood was all over the pavement) – the only people inside were the pretentious bartenders waiting to hustle my cash from me. I am a regular club go-er and I honestly see how Hollywood versus any other club/bar in LA works. I mean, do they charge more than the actual price of drinks and keep the change AKA add it to their “tips?” I don’t understand the mentality of these people? Why wouldn’t you want to be the best in customer service versus the con-men that steal your cash all night? As I progressed to search the club for a better room and better DJ – they all sucked by the way and kept playing music from the early 90’s – all of the bartenders charged me differently for my drinks (?). The first drink I ordered was $5.00 for a vodka, soda, lime – not bad considering it’s a cheesy HW club – then the next bartender charged me $6.00 for the same drink. THEN the last bartender I ordered from charged me $10.00 for the same exact drink – which I believed was incredibly unfair since everyone else charged me way less. Since I endured all this other bullshit to actually get in and have fun with my friends I refused to touch the drink, pay for it and left the bar saying “WTF?” The bartender who probably had an “amazing” night conning people into paying whatever he wanted them to pay for, for their drinks – cried to the nearest big, black security guard to not let me leave until I paid him $10.00 for the drink plus tip him for his services until I left. Reluctantly, I gave him the cash + tipped him because they held me back and would not let me leave after 2:10 AM and drank my drink and left SO unsatisfied and overall having a very, very, very, very, very, bad night. I would NOT recommend every visiting this club/bar EVER. Seriously, the service is bad, the doorman is mean and totally pretentious for no reason and all of the bartenders are just fed up, old people that probably just moved to Hollywood to pursue their dreams – which are going down the drain and taking it out on honest patrons. Seriously, DO NOT go to this place. It is the WORST of the WORST.

P.S. There were no dancers all night.
