Sleeping Cheap in Tinsel Town

LA has some of the most luxurious and expensive lodgings in the world, including five 5-star hotels. But for the “young, fabulous and broke” there are a number of dorm-style accommodations where travelers can find a bed for the night for under $20. Some of these are only for international travelers or students, but others are open to anyone from outside Southern California. I compiled all the ones that seemed remotely habitable into the Los Angeles Hostel Guide. Some of the places on the list have gotten mixed reviews, but you can be sure that if a hostel is NOT on the list, you probably don't want to sleep there.
