Venice and Dockweiler Beaches Closed Today
Wednesday August 9, 2006
According to today's LA Times, two miles of beach on the Santa Monica Bay are closed today due to a sewage spill early Tuesday causing high levels of bacteria in the water. The affected area includes parts of Venice Beach between the Marina del Rey entrance channel and the extension of Ironsides Street, and Dockweiler Beach between Ballona Creek and the extension of Sandpiper Street. For water condition updates, visit www.healthebay.org or call L.A. County Dept. of Health Services at 626-430-5200.
