9-11 Memorial Today at LAX

Monday September 11, 2006
Today at noon LAX will commemorate the tragic events of 9/11/2001 with a “Circle of Unity.” Airport employees and passengers are invited to join hands to form a circle around the Theme Restaurant at the center of the airport. In the center of the Theme Building is a permanent compass-shaped memorial to 9-11 called “Recovering Equilibrium,” which was dedicated on 9/11/2003. After the “Circle of Unity,” the LAX Police Honor Guard will lay a wreath at another 9-11 memorial plaque at the LAX Flag Courtyard at Century Blvd. and Sepulveda. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) LAX Choir will sing during both ceremonies. Airport parking can be validated at either ceremony.
