Celebrate Elvis Presley's Birthday at the Nixon Library

The most requested photo in the National Archives is a shot of Elvis Presley with President Richard Nixon during Elvis' 1970 visit to the White House. This visit is the theme of an exhibit opening January 8, 2007 at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda. The King's black velvet suit and the President's gray suit and tie from the photo will be on display, as well as the handwritten letter that Elvis presented at the White House gate requesting an audience with President Nixon. The display will also include the gifts they exchanged.
On Elvis' birthday, January 8, at 10:30 am, White House Staffer, Bud Krogh will present a lecture based on his book The Day Elvis Met Nixon. The lecture is free with admission.

Tuesday, January 9 is FREE admission all day in honor of Richard Nixon's 94th Birthday. The President's younger brother, Edward Nixon will speak at 11 am.
