Snow Day in LA!

Wednesday January 17, 2007
It's been 20 years since snow has fallen in LA, but it made up for it today. After three days of freezing temperatures, enough snow and hail fell in West LA and Malibu today to actually coat the ground and have kids out sled riding down their driveways. The ice has closed off most lanes of the 5 freeway north and south with drivers stranded over night. Flights in and out of LAX have also been affected. Check traffic reports and flight schedules before heading into or out of town. Be extra cautious driving in LA during this cold snap, even if you're from a cold weather state. LA drivers don't know how to drive in rain, much less snow. We should be back into the sunny 60's by Thursday afternoon, but nights will stay chilly for a while.
