Thursday July 5, 2007
Outrigger canoes will take to the sea and volleyball teams will take to the sand this weekend at Belmont Shore in Long Beach. On the other end of town, the Classic Boat and Yacht Festival will liven up Rainbow Lagoon between Shoreline Village and the Aquarium of the Pacific. This weekend's events are part of the Long Beach International Sea Festival, which stages a variety of festivities and competitions on land and at sea in Long Beach throughout the summer. During the NOAH KALAMA Outrigger Canoe Sprint Regatta on July 7, twenty-six 6-man Polynesian Outrigger Canoes will race from Belmont Pier to Granada Landing in a day highlighting Polynesian culture.
