African Marketplace and Cultural Faire

The music, dance, crafts and culture of Africa and the African Diaspora are showcased in Los Angeles every year at the African Marketplace and Cultural Faire. For three weekends in August and September, Rancho Cienega Park is host to a maze of market stalls featuring everything you might find in an African village market (almost). Several stages feature African, African American and Afro-Caribbean music and dance, including both international and home-grown performers. And of course, food specialties from different parts of Africa, the Caribbean and the U.S.When: August 16-17, 23-24, 30-31 & Sept 1, 2008
Hours: 10 am – 9 pm
Where: Rancho Cienega Park, 5001 Rodeo Road, 1 block east of La Brea
Cost: $8 general admission, $5 seniors (65+) and free for children under 10
