Out-of-the-Box Holiday Shopping in LA

If you're looking for really one-of-a-kind gifts this holiday season, consider visiting one of the many craft bazaars, art walks and neighborhood shopping nights around LA.

My friends over at Metromix have put together a nice list of Craft Fairs and Gift Shows in LA to get you started.

Or you might consider a run down to Laguna Beach for original fine arts and crafts from the Winter Fantasy at the Sawdust Art Festival. Over 170 art and food vendors and live entertainment in a winter fairyland setting, weekends 10 am - 6 pm through Dec 14, 2008. (Free admission Dec 6-7 or 13-14 with the donation of a gently worn coat. Dec 6-7 also free admission with toy donation)

For fans of vintage clothing and furniture, Retro Row in Long Beach is having their Holiday Open House December 6, 2008 from noon to 6 pm. The even features photos with Santa, Sweets & Treats on Wheels, Free gift wrapping and a chance to donate to the Spark of Love Toy Drive, or trade a $10 toy for a free movie pass at the Art Theatre.

The Long Beach Antique and Collectibles Market on Dec 21, 2008 will offer last minute shoppers some interesting treasures (free passes and discount coupons online).
