It's Time for the Orange County Fair

The LA Fair has better TV commercials about how desperately Angelenos need a county fair, but there are plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with livestock at the Orange County Fair as well.

Of course, many patrons never get as far as the animals. They may spend their time on the rides, in the extensive halls full of the latest gadgets, exploring the craft fair or watching the stage performances. There will be bands playing on the main mall and a line up of separate fee concerts at the adjacent Pacific Amphitheatre.

When: July 10 - August 9, 2009, Wed-Fri Noon - Midnight, Sat-Sun 10 am - Midnight
Where: Orange County Fairgrounds, Fairview exit off the 405 freeway or Fair Drive off the 55 freeway, Costa Mesa.
Cost: $10 General Admission, $7 Seniors (60+), $5 Children 6-12, 5 and under free, rides are $3-5
Parking: $5 General, $10 preferred, extra off-site parking is available on the weekend.
