It's full-on whale season in Southern California and the city of Dana Point in Orange County is celebrating with the Dana Point Festival of Whales for two weekends, March 2-3 and 9-10, 2013. A sampling of the many events includes a parade, street fair, car show, scavenger hunt, sand sculpting, interpretive nature hike, marine mammal lecture series, movies, music, sailing and stand-up paddling lessons, tall ship sails, and of course, whale watching.
