I'm always pleasantly surprised when I run into people at an event or attraction in LA who are there because they read about it here on Los Angeles Travel on About.com. Last year I ran into a Canadian family who came to National Dance Day and the Dizzy Feet Gala in LA after seeing it on my blog. They made a detour from their Disneyland vacation to attend and were having a great time, appreciating the new Grand Park and seeing the celebrities at the Gala at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
This year, National Dance Day festivities, hosted by the LA Music Center return to Grand Park on July 27, 2013 with performances, dance classes, dancing in the fountain and appearances by producers and cast of So You Think You Can Dance. Learn in advance and join in the official National Dance Day celebration routines Everybody Dance and the Hip Hop Master Class Routine. Food will be available from some of LA's gourmet food trucks. The free festival takes place from 10 to 2 pm at Grand Park. Visit www.musiccenter.org for more info.
That eventing, the Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion will host the Dizzy Feet Dance Awards and Gala.
