Tet FestivalThe Lunar New Year is almost upon us and there are a variety of opportunities to celebrate the Year of the Horse around Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The 2014 Lunar New Year dawns January 31, but some celebrations have already begun. This year, in addition to the Golden Dragon Parade in Chinatown and the Vietnamese Tet Festival in Garden Grove, events at Disneyland, Universal Studios, Santa Monica Place, Beverly Hills and the Bowers Museum. While the more long-running community events are created by and for the ethnic communities where they take place, and therefore have a much more authentic flavor, many of the new events are designed to appeal to visiting Chinese tourists. All of them will be colorful and festive and provide great photo opportunities for locals and visitors alike. For details on these and other events, check out the schedule of Chinese and Vietnamese New Year Events Around Los Angeles.
