The Sunset Strip in Los Angeles is a 1.6 mile stretch of Sunset Boulevard that is technically in the city of West Hollywood, CA, bordered by the Hollywood neighborhood of LA across Havenhurst Drive to the east and the city of Beverly Hills across Doheny Road to the west. This 1.6 mile stretch is best known for the rock n' roll history of it's many live music clubs and bars and the dense collection of giant billboards towering over the street. It was also immortalized in the TV show in the 1950s and 60s named for the fictitious address 77 Sunset Strip.
Along this stretch you'll also find high end shopping and casual and fine dining establishments that spill out onto the sidewalk and some of the trendiest hotels in the area.
A major event on the Strip every year is the Sunset Strip Music Festival, which takes over the street and all the live music venues for a weekend in August.
