Los Angeles International Contemporary Art Fair

ART LA, the Los Angeles International Contemporary Art Fair, provides contemporary competition on the same weekend as the Los Angeles Art Show. The event takes place Friday through Sunday the last weekend in January, with a Thursday night opening reception. While the LA Art Show focuses on 19th through 21st century art, ART LA has a totally contemporary focus. The 60 galleries from LA and across the globe, represent a cross-section of today's artists in a variety of genres. For 2009, the event has moved from the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium to the Barker Hanger.

When: Annually, the last weekend in January. In 2009, January 23-25. Opening Reception January 22.

Hours: Thurs Opening VIP 6:30 - 8:30, General 8:30 - 10:30, Fri-Sat 11 am - 7 pm, Sun 11 am - 6 pm

Where: Barker Hangar, 3021 Airport Avenue, Santa Monica 90405.

Cost: $15 per day, Opening reception $50 (8:30), $150 (6:30) VIP in advance, $80/$200 at the door.
