Introduced in June 2008, Toy Story Midway Mania, AKA Toy Story Mania, at Disney California Adventure is an entertaining 4D romp through a carnival midway where you have a chance to test your skill at virtual games like the baseball throw, balloon darts and ring toss using a string-pull gun. An animatronic Mr. Potato Head interacts with guests in line. Each car holds four people sitting back to back in pairs. You start with a practice round of pie throwing, followed by 5 different midway games with scored targets creating a friendly competition to score high points.

Fun Factors:

Thrill: Not scary or fast, but great fun.

Speed: Slow moving vehicles make a few quick turns, but nothing too fast or jerky.

Theme: You shrink to toy-size as you ride through giant blocks and toys. Each midway game is hosted by a different Toy Story character.

Effects: 3D animated midway games are perceived through the glasses provided. Puffs of air add a 4th dimension as balloons pop and baseballs fly.

Overall Entertainment: This ride is 6 minutes of unadulterated fun for kids and adults. I'd recommend it for ages 4 and up. Younger kids might have a hard time operating the trigger.
