Feast of San Gennaro Los Angeles Italian Festival

The Feast of San Gennaro - LA consists of the Prima Notte Gala on Thursday night, and the main Festa open to the public Friday through Sunday.

Prima Notte (First Night) is a star studded gala fundraiser and awards celebration honoring great achievements by Italian Americans past and present. Previous honorees have included Dom DeLuise, Bobby Daren, Louis Prima, Keely Smith, Bruno Sammartino, Dean Martin, Franki Valli and many others. The celebration also includes the crowning of Miss San Gennaro and the awarding of scholarships by the San Gennaro Foundation. There is plenty of festival food, rides, a silent auction and a live auction conducted by Jimmy Kimmel. For 2009 you can dance to the hits from the 1950’s & 60’s ITALIAN AMERICAN BANDSTAND Celebrating the music of Frankie Avalon, James Darren, Fabian, Connie Francis, Bobby Rydell and more.
