The Hollywood Bowl at 2301 N. Highland Avenue was designed in 1929 by Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright, as an outdoor amphitheatre. To figure out how best to situate the stage, opera singer Ellen Beach Yaw was sent to hike around the 59 acres testing the acoustics.
The Hollywood Bowl is the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and hosts a variety of other musical performances each year. The on-site Hollywood Bowl Museum is open before performances and during the day year round. Visit www.Hollywoodbowl.com for more information.
