Cinecon Classic Film Festival

A 5-day celebration of movies, specializing in rare, unusual and unjustly forgotten movies from the silent and early sound era. It features screenings of over 30 classic films, celebrity guests and film book and movie memorabilia shows. Most films are screened in 35mm and silent films include live piano accompaniment.
When: Labor Day Weekend, Sept 3-7, 2009

SoCal Independent Film Festival

The event awards independent films and screenplays, and features speakers, workshops, Q&As and panel discussions.

Annual Artivist Film Festival

The Artivist Film Festival screens around 70 films that are activist in nature, and is a forum for filmmakers, artists, and musicians who use their work to create a global social consciousness, specifically in the arenas of environmental awareness, animal rights, human rights, and children’s advocacy. Hollywood is one stop on a multi-country film festival tour.

Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF)

The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival is a ten-day event held at the historic Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, home of the American Cinematheque. The festivities begin with the premiere presentation of an award-winning film, followed by a gala where attendees feast and make merry in an ambiance inspired by the presented film, and dance into the night to the rhythm of a live band.
