Orange County Fair 2008

The Orange County Fair is a traditional county fair that showcases the rural side of the county right in the city of Costa Mesa. There are livestock shows and competitions, pig races, vegetable and garden exhibits, equestrian events and a cattle drive. There are also home arts and crafts, local youth and adults performing, circus acts, carnival rides, motocross, demolition derby and lots of fair food. Technology is well-represented as well with all kinds of gadgets demonstrated and sold in the exhibit halls.

A cattle drive with 300 Corriente steers will be driven through the streets of Costa Mesa on July 26 at 10:00 am. The drive will start at Fairview Park and proceed south on Placentia Ave., east on Victoria St., north on Harbor Blvd., and east on Fair Drive before entering the Fair through Gate 2 at Vanguard Way. The procession is scheduled to reach the Fair by noon.

There are free concerts and other events in the OC Arena (reserved tickets available) and additional FEE concerts at the Pacific Amphitheatre

Promotions:
Opening Day - First hour, noon to 1 pm free parking and free entry, $1 ride tickets sold until 5 pm, ride until 8 pm. Free for active duty military, law enforcement and firefighters plus one guest from 1 to 6 pm.
Tuesdays - Kids 12 and under get in free.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays - $20 all-day carnival wrist bands sold until 5 pm, ride until 8 pm
Thursdays - Seniors $4, includes free Ferris wheel and merry-go-round rides
Thursdays and Fridays - $1 Ride tickets sold until 5 pm, good to ride until 8 pm (some extreme and skill rides not included).
Pacific Amphitheatre & RCS Ticket Bounce-Back - Concert ticket stubs are good for fair entry the same night and one free ride on La Grande Wheel.
