Los Angeles Art Show
LA Fine Art Exhibition and Sale

By Kayte Deioma, About.com

The Los Angeles Art Show is an annual exhibition and sale of fine art hosted by the Fine Art Dealers Association (FADA). The international event takes place Thursday through Sunday the last weekend in January. The Art Show is geared toward serious art collectors, with paintings, sculptures and photographs selling for thousands to millions of dollars. Participation of galleries is by invitation only, so the caliber of work represented remains high. The art ranges from Old Masters to contemporary artists, primarily from the 19th through 21st centuries.

A series of presentations and lectures on art appreciation, collection and other relevant topics are scheduled. Another added feature is a series of design vignettes presented by the Pacific Design Center and Architectural Digest showing how fine art can be incorporated into interior design.

An Opening Night Gala is held the Wednesday night before the show.

Note: The Los Angeles Art Show should not be confused with the ART LA, the contemporary art fair held the same weekend in Santa Monica.
