There are ten Entertainment Centers set up at locations where spectators can watch the Marathon runners pass by. Food and entertainment as well as the all important portable toilets will be available at these locations.
The Metro Red Line stops at Hollywood & Highland and Hollywood & Vine are near the beginning of the race. There is an Entertainment Center at Vine and Selma, one block south of Hollywood & Vine. The Red Line stops 7th Street and Pershing Square are each about 5 blocks from the Finish Line Festival.
Metro Blue Line stops at Washington, San Pedro, Grand, Pico and 7th Street are all three blocks or less from the Marathon route. The route passes directly in front of the 7th Street Metro Station, where the Blue and Red Lines meet then heads three blocks north to the finish line. It is 5 blocks from the Family Reunion Finish Line Festival.
Spectators and family members DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE FINISH LINE. If you have hopes of watching your loved ones cross the finish line, you will have to watch the televised version. Family Reunion stations will be set up at the Finish Line Festival so runners can reconnect with family and friends. Lettered meeting spots help people to find each other based on the runner's name. Be sure to discuss ahead of time which letter you're talking about to make sure everyone is thinking of the same name.
I've laid the Metro Red and Blue lines over all the race routes in the Combined Marathon and Metro Map.
