The Long Beach Marathon is one of the fastest and most scenic runs around due to the flatness of the course, 80% of which is along or within view of the ocean. Over 21,000 participants are expected to compete in the annual Long Beach Marathon events including the 26.2 mile Long Beach International City Bank Marathon, the Half Marathon, Marathon Bike Tour, Bubba Gump Run Forrest Run 5K and Kids 1 Mile Fun Run. There will be 25 entertainment stations along the route, and spectators can enjoy the scenery, get a tan, or visit attractions along the race route while waiting to cheer runners. The Finish Line Festival starts bright and early and continues until mid-afternoon. Other events associated with the Long Beach Marathon Health & Fitness Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center and the Carbo Load Dinner the night before the race. Registrants for all events receive a t-shirt, goodie bag and free entry into the Aquarium of the Pacific valid October 7-16.
There will NOT be an early start for Marathon walkers. Walkers must be able to maintain a 17 minute mile speed to finish the course on time.
