With
LA's car culture it's not surprising that Los Angeles and Orange Counties host an astounding array of car shows for automobile fans of every ilk. Whether you're a fan of classic woodies, antique autos, race cars, luxury rides, pimped out hot rods or whatever the manufacturers have in store for next season, there's a car show in the greater LA area to get you excited. Long Beach and Huntington Beach seem to dominate with more car shows every year than any other area.
This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all the car shows in the area, but rather a collection of events that I think my interest auto aficionados visiting from out of town. The following LA car shows are listed by month and continue onto page 2.
Any time of year is a good time to check out the
Saturday Sunrise Car Cruisers, AKA the
Donut Derelicts who gather bright and early at
Adams Avenue Donuts (9015 Adams Avenue Huntington Beach, CA 92646)
every Saturday morning. Over 75 roadsters, hot rods and new concept cars make an appearance on an average Saturday. For more weekly car club and cruise night events, check out

Pomona Swap Meet and Classic Car Show where hundreds of vendors offer all kinds of hard to find parts for classic autos and people come to buy and sell as well as showcase their custom and vintage rides.
The
Grand National Roadster Show is the longest running competitive indoor car show in the country, taking place inside all the buildings at the LA County Fairgrounds, the Fairplex in Pomona, every
January. In addition to the competition cars inside the halls, the event incorporates the Grand Daddy Drive-In, which adds 400-800 additional hot rods, classic and collector cars on display between the buildings.
Over 500 Woodies, Nomads, VW vans and other popular surfer rides show up every
March for the annual
Wavecrest Huntington Beachcruiser Meet in Huntington Beach. The event spreads down Main Street onto the Huntington Beach pier.
From the free
Thunder Thursday opening night street party through the weekend of Grand Prix action, race cars are on display in street exhibits and at the Gran Prix Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center during the
Long Beach Grand Prix each
April.
Over 400 classic cars and hot rods are showcased during the
Culver City Car Show the Saturday of
Mother's Day Weekend in
May. The event includes food, music and car-culture vendors.
