1. Mother's Day Brunch at the Disney Concert Hall

Mother's will be feted by Patina Catering in the Blue Ribbon Garden at the gleaming Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles. 3. House of Blues Gospel Brunch

The House of Blues used to have their famous Gospel Brunch every Sunday, but now it's reserved for special occasions like Mother's Day. This Mother's Day the original House of Blues on Sunset Blvd will have three seatings for their Gospel Brunch and an all new show produced by Grammy winner Kirk Franklin. The House of Blues in Anaheim will also host two shows for their own Gospel Brunch.
When: May 12, 2013, 10 am and 1 pm (9 and 12 in Anaheim), doors open 45 minutes before each show so you can get your food and get settled.

4. Take Mom to a Play

A mother-themed play opens in LA just in time for mother's day, so why not take mom out for a little culture instead of just brunch.

5. For Mom and the Kids

There are a bunch of shows playing Sunday where Mom and Dad can have fun with the kids along, from Scooby Doo Live! Musical Mysteries at the Dolby Theatre to Winnie the Pooh running back to back with a more traditional version of Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure at the Promenade Playhouse in Santa Monica, or Disney on Ice: Treasure Trove in Ontario.

6. Cooking Class on Mother's Day?

Usually you think of getting mom out of the kitchen on her special day, but if the mom in your life really enjoys the gourmet cooking experience, or would like to improve her kitchen skills, joining her for a Mother's Day Brunch cooking class at EATZ may be just the thing. $105 per person includes all food, wine and cocktails. If the brunch menu doesn't appeal, and you're not particularly health conscious, they're also doing a bacon-themed menu Mother's Day evening.
