Guide Review - Sheraton Universal Hotel - Review

The updated Sheraton Universal at Universal Studios Hollywood gets good marks for Hollywood style. Historic stars of the silver screen oversee your check-in process from a photo gallery behind the nouveau-deco front desk. You may even run into modern-day celebrities in the lobby, since many actors working on Universal productions stay here.

The lobby lounge has been furnished with plenty of seating and a Starbucks Grab 'n Go has been added to the bar area, making it a popular place to congregate at any time of day.

The 451 newly remodeled rooms are decorated in beige and cream with espresso and blue accents. The many accessible electrical outlets will please tech-heavy business travelers. All rooms include at least a desk, chair and one or more easy chairs. You can request a room with 2 chairs based on availability.

For better lounging around, try a Junior Suite with a sofa or King Room with a comfy loveseat. Unlike some hotel furniture, which looks great, but is not made for humans, I wanted to take this sofa home. Full suites are also available.

They have a Best Rate Guarantee policy, so check www.kayak.com to be sure you have the best rate to negotiate with, since they will give you 10% off if you find a better rate online. Also check the special offers page on the website for packages that include bonus items, like breakfast for 2, for less than the standard room rate.

Note: Read the terms and conditions. "Internet Only Prepaid Rates" ALWAYS have a 1 night penalty for canceling and no grace period.
