There are three main buildings to the museum. You enter by passing through Building 1, which houses the Early Childhood Development Center, Busy Bee Learning Store, Nestle Café by Wolfgang Puck and the Celebration Center to arrive at the Ticket Booth in the Central Courtyard.

Building 2, on your left houses offices and the First Aid Station and Lost and Found.

The Central Courtyard contains the patio of the Café, additional tables in the courtyard, the Splash Dance Fountain (spurts of water coming up through the pavement) and the Blasting Zone kid-size construction zone.

Building 3, straight across the courtyard is the main exhibit hall. The featured exhibit is Digging Deepe, which includes seven activity areas in three rooms.

The Kidspace Gardens are currently larger than the indoor space. The Wisteria Courtyard is a paved area immediately behind the buildings. Beyond that is the Stone Hollow Amphitheater. The rest of the hillside is landscaped as a miniature version of Pasadena's Arroyo Seco with 11 activity and learning areas.
