Area nightclub, owned by SBE Entertainment, has been an LA hot spot since it took over the former Prey nightclub in West Hollywood and transformed it into its current incarnation in 2006. While it's not quite as popular with the celebrity crowd as it was when it first opened, it still draws a mix of multi-ethnic urban movers and shakers and college coeds.

Despite the A-List moving on to other SBE venues like Foxtail, Area still keeps a pretty tight door. Whether you get in or not, and whether you pay a cover charge is at the complete discretion of the door staff. Gals and guys should both look your hottest or be prepared to shell out $350 for a bottle to get in the door on a Friday or Saturday. The rest of us lesser mortals have a better chance of getting in for just the cover charge on a Wednesday.
