The Kress Hollywood - Nightclubs at The Kress

The rooftop patio at The Kress is designed to be the ultimate insider refuge, with prize views of Hollywood Boulevard at night and a loungy feel under pink and blue lights. I got to check out the roof on a Thursday night when it was closed, and it certainly is a stunning venue. There is plenty of seating with long sectional sofas, circle sofas and private cabana seating. With bottle service starting at $1500, they're serious about being exclusive.

I was surprised to hear that Mike Palmieri is DJing upstairs. I like his choice of music, but find his insistence on cutting off every song after the first verse annoying (although in fashion among DJs) and his particularly abrasive transitions make me long for a DJ who can blend tracks without causing rhythm shock. For $1500 and up I'd expect a better music mix, but I haven't heard him in a while though, so maybe he has improved.
