Fishing Permits in Los Angeles 2009

The following is a list of fishing permits available in Southern California. Fishing permits are not required if you are under 16 years old or fishing from a public pier. License fees are also waived on Free Fishing Days. For more information, visit the California Department of Fish and Game

Sport Fishing Licenses

Required for anyone 16 years old or older to take fish, mollusks, crustaceans, invertebrates, amphibians or reptile in inland or ocean waters.

Annual Licenses:

Resident: $41.20
Nonresident: $110.80
Duplicate: $9.20

Short Term Licenses

1-Day Resident/Nonresident: $13.40
2-Day Resident/Nonresident: $20.75
10-Day Nonresident: $41.20

Stamps and Cards

The following Stamps and Cards may also be required in certain areas of Southern California. For Northern California requirements visit the CA Department of Fish and Game.

Second Rod Stamp: $12.85
Allows an angler to fish with two rods or lines in inland lakes, reservoirs and the Colorado River District.

Ocean Enhancement Stamp: $4.75
Allows an angler to fish in ocean waters south of Point Arguello (Santa Barbara County). An Ocean Enhancement Stamp is not required when fishing under the authority of a One or Two-Day Sport Fishing License.

Steelhead Report Card: $6.30
Allows an angler to fish for steelhead in inland waters.

Spiny Lobster Report Card: Required for all anglers taking spiny lobster, including persons who are not required to have a sport fishing license, such as persons who are under 16 years of age, persons who are fishing from a public pier and persons who are fishing on free fishing days.
