Holiday Entertainment at Major LA and Orange County Shopping Centers


Malls and shopping centers in LA pull out all the stops to bring you through their doors to spend your holiday money. They put on festive entertainment that gets bigger, better and earlier every year. From acrobatic performances to concerts, strolling carolers, artificial snow fall and of course, visits with Santa, there's plenty of free entertainment to go along with your LA shopping spree. LA Santas often pose with pets as well as kids, so check the schedule at each location for special pet days with Santa.

The Beverly Center

For 2013, the Beverly Center, along with other Taubman malls across the US, will re-purpose the three-story multimedia walk-through Ice Palace created for The Chronicles of Narnia, now including footage from BBC Earth and Frozen Planet. You can sit on the Ice Throne before sitting on Santa's lap for a photo opportunity. November 7 - December 24, 2013.

Hollywood & Highland

Hollywood & Highland Christmas

Hollywood & Highland will host a Tree Lighting celebration November 14, 2013 at 6 pm in the central courtyard. The event will include performances by American Idol season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez, The Voice Season 5 contestant Timyra-Joi, the RC Dance Center Rockettes, and more. There will be a toy drive to benefit Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

The Grove

The Grove Tree Lighting ceremony for the Grove's 100-foot tree is Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 7:30 9:30 pm with musical performances from Mary J. Blige, Cee Lo Green, ewel, Gavin Degraw, Il Volo , Tony Braxton, and Kenny "Babbyface" Edmonds. Santa Claus and snow flurries will also put in an appearance.

Thereafter it will be snowing every night at the Grove at 7 and 8 pm. There will be holiday entertainment and Santa in his cottage through Dec 24, with pet night every Tuesday through December 17.

Americana at Brand in Glendale

Americana at Brand in Glendale also has a 100-foot tree with an official Tree Lighting event November 21, 2013 at 7:30 pm with Cirque du Santa, a winter wonderland of magical elves, flying reindeer, dancing snowmen, plus Santa Claus and fireworks finale. Like the Grove, Americana at Brand brings on the snow at 7 and 8 pm every evening through Christmas Eve. They also have similar roaming musicians and singers around the tree. Santa will be on hand for photo ops.

Holiday Events in Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills will be lighting a holiday tree on Rodeo Drive and Wilshire in front of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, as well as 100,000 lights on Rodeo Drive on November 24, 2013. The event will include live music and festive fun.

Santa and Mrs Claus will be making multiple appearances in Beverly Hills. Mrs. Claus will be telling stories on the Beverly Hills Trolley on Saturdays and Sundays from December 7-22, 2013. The Trolley will drop guests off at the Paley Center for Media, where they can visit Santa and watch classic holiday movies and TV shows. The Trolley is $5 for adults and $1 for kids 12 and under. Visits with Santa at the Paley Center are free. Trolleys depart from Rodeo Drive and Dayton Way on the hour from 11 am to 4 pm. Santa visits are available 11 am to 3 pm.

Santa will also show up at Two Rodeo, accompanied by snow falling from the rooftops. Two Rodeo will also have holiday carolers and other live music between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Check the full schedule of Beverly Hills Holiday Events.

The Farmers Market

The Farmers Market is right next to the Grove, but they are having their Tree and Holiday Lighting the Monday before Thanksgiving, Nov 25, 2013 from 5-6 pm in conjunction with the The Salvation Army Kettle Kick-Off Celebration. December 20-24, 2013 strolling carolers and the Toy Soldier Band will be on hand to entertain shoppers. The Menorah Lighting is Sunday, Dec 1.

Old Town Pasadena

One Colorado in Old Town Pasadena will have dozens of events and promotions Thanksgiving weekend alone, starting with Santa arriving amidst 20 tons of snow to light the tree November 29, 2013, the Friday after Thanksgiving from 6 to 7 pm. Donating a toy to the holiday toy drive will get you a complimentary photo with Santa. The weekend and the season will continue with treats, live entertainment, sing-alongs, giveaways and tours. Pet Night with Santa is Dec 13, 2012 from 5 to 9 pm.

Tree Lighting and Holiday Festival at LA Live

LA Live is having their official tree lighting of the giant tree at the center of the Ice Rink on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 5 pm, kicking off three days of winter festivities called the best.snowday.ever. including a 30-foot hill of snow for sledding, a giant snow castle, Christmas karaoke and carnival snow games. December 2-4, 2013, 5 pm nightly.

Tree Lighting at the Queen Mary

An unwrapped toy donation to the Spark of Love Toy Drive will get you into the Community Tree Lighting at the Queen Mary December 4, 2013 from 3 to 7:30 pm. It is a great opportunity to get a glimpse of the the winter attraction CHILL, and enjoy the festive atmosphere and entertainment, even though it doesn't include entrance to the Ice Kingdom, Ice Skating or Ice Tubing.

Complimentary holiday cookies and hot beverages provided by Keurig will be served. The tree lighting will take place at 7:30 p.m. Other festivities that evening include a live band and a choir performance as well as a figure skating performance by Tyler Pierce, a Novice Ladies National Champion. You can wander around the Candy Cane Village, visit Santa and ride the giant Rocking Horse, but expect crowds.

Tree Lighting in Culver City

Local choirs will accompany the Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 6 pm at Culver City's Town Center at the intersection of Culver Blvd and Van Buren Place, Next to Culver Hotel & Pacific Theatres. Santa will put in an appearance and festive holiday refreshments will be served.
