Wild Rivers is a water park in Irvine, California, 20 minutes from Disneyland. It has the most water attractions (25) of the four Southern California water parks, including a surfing wave pool where you can use body boards. They don't expect you to sit around, so there are not enough loungers, but you're allowed to bring your own. They have some of the best deals on season passes, and some other amenities, like locker rentals. It's the closest water park to the coast, so the temperatures are not as scorching as at parks farther inland, and it cools down a lot faster in the evening.

There are 25 different rides, pools and play areas include a wave pool, kiddie play area, floating river and a variety of slides, flumes and chutes. Wild Rivers has more rides than any other southern California water park including the Congo River Mountains whitewater rafting ride and separate giant wave pool with surfable waves. They also have the most rides for little kids, many of them small scale versions of the larger rides.

Wild Rivers has a variety of snack bars, changing rooms, and two sizes of lockers for rent ($6 regular or $10 large with a $5 key deposit). Cabanas are available for rent by the day. Plastic inner tubes are available to rent by the day. You can also rent body boards for the surf pool. Wild Rivers offers the Safety Zone electronic tracking system to keep track of your kids or other members of your party in the park. The wristbands are free with a credit card or $3 each if using cash.

• NO Coolers, food and beverage items, glass containers, radios, lounges, wet suits, bodyboards or personal flotation devices may be brought into the park.
• It's OK to bring lounge chairs, strollers, bottles of water in non-glass containers, and coast guard approved lifejackets.
• T-shirts, footwear, rash guards, and shorts made of non-bathing suit material are not permitted on any attraction where the guest slides on their back, or slides while sitting directly on the slide. Please consult the guest assistant at each ride.
